Valentine's Day Party! Unit B's Valentine's Day Party
will be held this Thursday, February 11th from 1-2pm in the classrooms. On Monday, February 8th a class list was sent
home with your student if he/she would like to bring and exchange Valentine's. Your child is welcome to bring Valentine's
on that day. We do ask that if your child chooses to bring Valentine's that he/she brings one for each member of
the class. Thank you in advance to all the parents who help organize, prepare food, and attend
the party!
A few things to remember throughout the year.
1. Unit B is eating late lunch this year (12:30pm). Due to
the later time, it will be beneficial to your student to eat a larger breakfast to help them make it through till lunch.
Thank you for your cooperation in these matters.
2.
As mentioned at First Day Conferences we are not distributing edible treats to honor birthdays this year. We encourage
you if you would like to give a “treat” to the class to consider a non-edible alternative, such as a pencil, eraser,
etc. to honor your student’s special day. I realize this is a change from last year and appreciate your
help in following the procedures.
3. Our
school is GOING GREEN. To help eliminate the amount of paper being used, I will
post newsletters and reminders on my website. If you would like to receive an electronic copy instead of paper copy
and have not yet notified me please do so by e-mailing me at jmorris@cvcatholic.org or send a note in their planner and/or
Express Envelope.

Book Reports
Starting in September, students
will need to read one book at their reading level every month. This can also be their AR or BA book for the month.
By the end of the month, student will do a “Book Chat” about the book. During the “Book Chat,”
students will share the project that they completed about the book, as well as tell a little about the book. Students
should choose a different type of project each month. This should be completed at home. Students should choose
a book from the genre assigned to each specific month(s). Please click the Book Report button for the month's genre
and project ideas.

have access to a computer there will be paper copies in the St. Edward's office.
